You want to learn how to freedive, but you are not sure which programs suit you? In Apnea Odyssey, we always recommend to start with Level 1 program, this is where you can learn how to hold your breath, understand from theory sessions, practice with step by step from pool to open water for your depth training session. In the end, you want to freedive, because you want to dive in the sea. However in Kuala Lumpur, the nearest island is almost 4 hours away. to conduct full level 1 course within 2 or 3 days will be challenging and we will end up spend more on traveling time. We always encourage to start with the pool so that they can have more practice session to prepare for their Level 1 certification. For SSI level 1 certification, during course maximum depth allowed is 20m. Pool freediving course is part of Level 1 program, after this certification, students may start with their open water for depth training sessions to complete their level 1 certification, this in SSI system we call it Level 1 upgrade, we upgrading our pool certification to Level 1 certification. To obtain the pool certification, all participants need to perform minimum requirement for Level 1 pool part and also theory exam. We also understand about freediving culture because you will need platform to train after you complete your pool certification . For this we prepare our weekly training as well for our certified students. We also have another program for beginner which is SSI Freediving Basic. The difference between SSI Freediving basic and Freediving pool is in freediving basic there are no theory exam and no performance requirement to complete, but you will learn all same theory and pool practice like in pool. Maximum depth for freediving basic and pool is 5m. You also can upgrade your certification from Basic to Level 1 . Sound fun for your holiday ? we will offer more freediving basic program at Kota Kinabalu and Penang.
